Dallas Update

This last weekend was the Destination Dallas Market.  Many thanks to founders/volunteers Debbie Woodard, Karen McVean, Raymond Crawford and Kathy McVean for a great event.  These fun designs came home with me and may be looking for a place to be taught!

Girls Rule

Curtis Boehringer has designed this amazing Queen Elizabeth I piece called Girls Rule.  His designs, and my stitch guide, are available to the trade from Fleur de Paris.  She was fun to stitch, and even more fun to embellish!

Luscious

Luscious color.  Isn't this the prettiest color for the inside of a baby animal's ear?  From Planet Earth Fibers, and I plan to use it on the Santa Dome designed by Mary Lake Thompson from Melissa Shirley, in progress now and to be taught at Needlepoint This! in Dallas in October and at other points beyond.  See my updated teaching schedule.

Thrilled

I'm thrilled to have 2 new stitch guides in the Melissa Shirley collection.  Winter white Santa #1801 is so cool and elegant, and the Cardinal Dome #VS134 designed by Vicki Sawyer is a fun stitch on 13 mesh.  My teaching schedule and stitch guide list have been updated.

Soaring Santa

Almost done!  these Christmas Houses from Melissa Shirley are so much fun to stitch.  Good Harbor Needlepoint in Beverly Farms, MA is calling this their Soaring Santa Club, and it starts in September 2016.  Susan can give you the details at 978.969.1748. I was honored to write the guide.

Ft. Worth is soon to be Embellished!

I will be teaching an Embellishment Class on June 17-18 at The French Knot in Ft. Worth.  The class is almost full, so call soon if you wish to attend.  817.731.3446.  I'm thrilled with the choices so far - these ladies have such good taste in canvases...here are just a couple of the designs for which I will be writing guides:
4 Eggs from Zecca

Llama with Pearl Earring, by Vicki Sawyer from Melissa Shirley Designs,  Look at those eyes!

As always, check the tabs above for updated Teaching Schedule and Stitch Guides.

Enjoy!

So cute I can't stand it

Sometimes you see a design that just speaks to you.  That's how I felt at January Market when I saw this beauty designed by Mary Lake Thompson, from Melissa Shirley Designs.  I will be starting him soon; what a fun class for techniques for fur and clothing!

Hearts Aplenty

I just adore stitching hearts.  And buying heart canvases.  Here are just a few I displayed this year.

Mail and candy, oh yes!

Even the unstitched ones are art to be enjoyed.

I wish a happy Valentine's Day to all.  Large vintage heart from Melissa Shirley Designs.

Playing Dress Up

Can witches be cute?  Yes, see this Pumpkin Parade of witches from Melissa Shirley.  I recently taught this class at Chandail Needlework in Houston.  We "dressed" and "did hair" on these 6 witches using lots of amazing Halloween threads and ribbons. Lots of fun, and not scary at all.

Winter White Santa

I love the crystally (is that a word?) colors in this majestic Winter White Santa #1801 from Melissa Shirley Designs. He is now stitched, and the stitch guide has been completed.  These 2- sided santas are addicting; I won't divulge how many I have.....

TNNA Winter Market 2016

Meet the Teacher event, TNNA Market 2016 in San Diego.

Just a few of the new pieces from market that caught my eye:

Melissa Prince has some beautiful new wreaths.

Nenah Stone's animals have such sweet faces!

I think I could live in Melissa Shirley's white house cove

I'm already stitching the santa, so he needs a sleigh!  Fun from Raymond Crawford.

A new year, a better blog

As I was putting away the Christmas decorations, I came across this old ornament.  Decades old. Designed, stitched and (crudely) finished by me.  This reminds me that stitching is a cumulative process, and we get better each year.  I wish JOY for each of you in 2016.

My first project for 2016 is this great santa from Raymond Crawford.  He is on the teaching schedule, too!  Check the tabs above for classes, projects, available stitch guides and some pictures.
